Creating Custom Problem Sets

Learn how to create custom problem sets by reading the directions below or watching this video.

A. Creating a Custom Problem Set

Step 1: Find problems either by Browsing Content or Searching by Standard.  To do this, click on  “Find & Assign” on the left side of your screen.

Step 2: In the “Search By Standard” search box, type in a common core standard or code or a keyword. A dropdown will automatically populate. Select the standard you’d like to search.

Step 3: View the results of your search. The problems that appear are those within our content that align to that standard. You can also filter the search results by Curriculum and/or Item Type.  Select the problems you want by clicking the selection boxes on the right.

Step 4: Click on the menu arrow next to assign to class and save to MY PROBLEM SETS. You will be prompted to name this problem set and save.

B. Add Problems to an existing saved problem set.

Step 1:  Once you have created your problem set, you can also Search by Standard or view Problem Sets in the ASSISTments Content Library to add additional problems.  To do this, click on  “Find Problems” on the left side of your screen.

Step 2:  Once you’ve found the problems you’d like to add, choose them by using the selection box on the right side of each problem.  Then, to add these problems to your existing set:

  1. Click the arrow next to Assign in the bottom right corner of the screen
  2. Click Save to My Problem Sets
  3. Search for the problem set to which you’d like to add problems to, select it, and click “Save to My Problem Sets.”
